JM Polo is owned and operated by Edward Matthies and Katie Edmeades. Ed and Katie have proudly taken over the world wide recognised brand of the Matthies family and together they have launched JM Polo. JM Polo was formed to be a market leader in producing quality polo ponies in Australia and overseas.
Edward Matthies
Edward was born in Melbourne. Ed started playing polo full time after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. He has spent the past few years travelling within Australia and Overseas playing seasons in England, Argentina, New Zealand and the Philippines. Ed is a dedicated up and coming professional who knows the value of his horses. Ed is currently studying an MBA by correspondence.
Katie Edmeades
Katie was born in England and her passion for horses was prevalent from a young age. She was brought up in the famous horse racing town, Newmarket where her parents run a successful bloodstock agency.
Katie always assumed she would follow in the family business until she caught the polo bug. Katie has been playing for a number of years and has travelled extensively playing and working in different aspects of polo from grooming to playing to managing professional players, clubs, and polo teams. Katie has represented both England and Australia in Ladies Polo.
Katie is studying Business Management and Sports Psychologyby correspondence.
Milly
Milly is an integral part of the JM Polo team and travels alongside Ed and Katie within Australia.
The home of JM Polo is located at ‘’Ashcroft’’ In Victoria.
Ashcroft is a recently developed property set up for the sole purpose of training and producing polo ponies. With the combined experience and knowledge of Ed and Katie they were able to create a property with all the necessary facilities and set it up in a way that is as user friendly as possible.
Ashcroft hosts the following facilities:
25 spacious day yards.
Full Size Polo Field International Size Arena used for Schooling and Chukkas.
